Nvidia names four German startups for investment in its nearly $10 billion European push

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced planned investments in four German startups at the Invest in Germany Summit in Berlin on Monday, part of what the company called a nearly $10 billion commitment to companies, universities and research institutions across Europe, Nvidia said. The size of the new investments was not disclosed, Tech.eu reported.

The companies: The planned investments are in Agile Robots, a Munich robotics company; Avelios Medical, a Munich startup building an AI-based hospital information system; Mirelo, which makes AI models that generate sound effects, speech and music for video; and Reflex Aerospace, a Berlin satellite maker, according to Nvidia. Nvidia said it already backs German companies including n8n, Neura Robotics and Black Forest Labs.

The government deal: Chancellor Friedrich Merz and two federal ministries signed a joint declaration of intent with Nvidia to work on AI models for physical AI, Nvidia said. Merz told small and medium-sized companies to “please open your doors for AI to make use of your data,” CNBC reported.

Huang’s pitch: “AI can only augment your capability, it will not replace your capability,” Huang said, according to Nvidia’s account of the event. The German announcements followed startup investments Nvidia recently announced in France and the UK during a European tour, Tech.eu reported.

What to keep in mind: The nearly $10 billion figure is Nvidia’s own description of its European commitment, and no deal terms were released for the four startups. Tech.eu reported that Nvidia also announced deals with other German partners, including Siemens and Mercedes-Benz.
